Your privacy on Dategh

Dategh is a small, community-run dating platform. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.

What we collect

• Account info: your email and password, used to log you in.
• Profile info: your name, date of birth, country, sex, what you're looking for, a short bio, and an optional profile photo — all provided by you.
• Activity: who you like, who you match with, and messages (including photos) you send in chat.
• Last seen: a rough timestamp of when you were last active, shown to other users.

How it's used

Your information is used only to run the app — showing your profile to others, enabling matching and chat, and letting you use features like reporting or support. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Who can see what

Your profile (name, age, country, photo, bio) is visible to other members. Messages are only visible to you and the person you're chatting with. Your email and password are never shown to other users.

Your choices

• You can leave your profile photo blank if you'd rather not show one.
• You can block or report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
• You can deactivate your account at any time from your Profile settings — this removes your profile, photos, likes, and messages.

Location

When you use the app, we log an approximate city and country based on your IP address. This is used internally to help keep the community genuine (for example, checking that a profile's stated country is plausible) — it isn't shown on your profile or visible to other users.

Payments

If you choose to unlock unlimited messaging, payment is currently handled manually via mobile money or by contacting support directly — we don't store any card or mobile money account details on our servers.
